If you think you have found knotweed, it’s important to take action as soon as possible to reduce the risk of it spreading. Early identification will reduce the timescale required to remove the knot weed safely.

Law and Notifiable Plants

As of January 2015 it is proposed that Japanese Knotweed, Himalayan balsam and giant hogweed will become a notifiable plant, this will make getting a mortgage on a property that has an infection a problem.

Knotweed is a national problem and we are here to help you to control the problem. It is a criminal offence to cause the spread of knotweed and anybody disposing material containing Japanese knotweed inappropriately is liable for prosecution, under section 34 of the EPA 1990 and section 14 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
